Sometimes the best way to help someone understand a tool is to say, “Let me show you.” Show them what you use it for. Show them what you created. Show them how it could make something in their life a little easier. That’s where a software demonstration can become a side hustle. I’m Angie Norris, and this is Side Hustle GPS. Today, we’re stopping in Discovery District to explore Software Demonstration Content. Most of my affiliate commissions have come from promoting software. I became an affiliate for my first software back in 2013, so this has been part of my world for more than a decade. And one thing I’ve learned is that when you actually use something, talking about it becomes so much easier. You have examples. You have experience. You know why you keep opening that tool every day. That gives you something meaningful to share. Through the years, I’ve created walkthroughs, tutorials, and challenges to help people get comfortable with software. I’ve put challenges on YouTube so people could follow along, try the steps, and build their confidence. Because signing up for software and knowing what to do with it are two very different things. Someone might see an impressive sales page and think, “That looks amazing.” Then they open the dashboard and think, “Okay. Now what?” You can be the person who helps them take that next step. Show them how to get started. Help them complete one useful task. Then show them another possibility when they’re ready. You could build an entire curriculum, from the first login to more advanced ways of using the software. And that creates a few different opportunities to earn. You can share demonstrations through an affiliate link and earn a commission on qualifying purchases. Some programs also offer recurring commissions when a referred customer renews, depending on the program’s terms. That’s one reason I love software affiliate marketing. You can create something helpful that continues introducing people to a tool long after you publish it. You can also offer demonstration content as a paid service. A software company might need onboarding videos. A consultant might need tutorials for clients. A business might need someone to explain a tool to its team. Your ability to make something understandable has value. And AI can help you prepare. Use it to outline your walkthrough, organize a lesson, draft captions, or turn a longer demonstration into shorter tutorials. Give it your actual experience and the steps you’ve tested. Then review the output so the instructions match what people will see. Your experience is what makes the demonstration yours. If a feature saves you time, show how. If something takes practice, say so. And when you’re sharing an affiliate link, clearly tell people you may earn a commission. That honesty builds trust. Your first money move? Choose one software tool you already use and record a short demonstration that answers one specific question. “How do I create my first project?” “How do I schedule this?” “How do I get this result?” If you want to explore its affiliate program, check the dashboard or website, search the company’s name plus “affiliate program,” or ask support. Every company handles partnerships differently. Start with a useful demonstration people can follow. So, what tool do you already use that someone else wishes they understood? Explore Software Demonstration Content in Discovery District at SideHustleGPS.com. People appreciate seeing what’s possible. And sometimes, your most powerful recommendation starts with four simple words: “Let me show you.”
