Find the Good Part

Read transcript
Have you ever listened to a long conversation and thought, “That right there. More people need to hear that part”? Maybe it was a story. A useful tip. A sentence that made you stop and think. Finding that moment—and turning it into something people can watch or listen to—is a skill you can offer. I’m Angie Norris, and this is Side Hustle GPS. Today, we’re stopping in Creator Coast to explore Podcast Clips. I love podcasts. I love listening, learning, and being taken on a journey. About seven years ago, I started my Ordinary to Extraordinary Business Podcast. It was about dreaming big and taking the skills you already have and turning them into an income stream. Sound familiar? Apparently, I’ve been finding different ways to talk about side hustles for a while. And I’ve been editing videos for twenty-five years. I know what it’s like to work through a recording, find the right section, trim it, and put the pieces together. There’s something satisfying about finding the good part. A conversation might last an hour, but inside it could be a moment that answers one question beautifully. That moment can become a short clip that introduces someone to the speaker and gives them a reason to explore more. You don’t have to make the entire episode fit into thirty seconds. You’re looking for one useful idea. And AI can help you get to those possibilities faster. I call it “automagically.” Because when you’ve spent years doing something manually, seeing a tool help with the first pass can feel a little magical. But you still get to make the decisions. Does the clip make sense on its own? Did it leave out something important? Are the captions correct? Does the opening give someone a reason to keep watching? A tool can suggest a moment. Your judgment helps turn it into a good clip. And that’s where this becomes a service. A podcaster, trainer, or business owner may have a library of recordings and very little time to work through them. You can help them find the moments worth sharing. Start with a clear offer. Maybe you turn one episode into three short clips. You trim each one, add readable captions, and prepare it for the platform where the client wants to share it. That’s a manageable service to practice and explain. Later, you might offer more. Editing full episodes. Cleaning up audio. Preparing titles and descriptions. Scheduling approved clips. But you don’t have to launch an entire production company to begin. Learn one part of the process and do it well. You can find potential clients through people you know, creator communities, or freelance marketplaces. Having a sample gives you something concrete to show them. So here’s your first money move: Choose a recording you own or have permission to edit. Find one moment that teaches, entertains, or makes someone think. Turn it into a short clip. Then watch it as if you’ve never heard the full conversation. Can you understand the point? Is the sound clear? Did you preserve what the speaker meant? If the answer is yes, you’ve started building a sample of your work. And if it needs another edit, that’s practice. What I love about this route is that you learn while you create. You’re listening closely. Noticing what matters. Finding a way to bring that moment to someone else. You might discover a skill you didn’t realize you had. So here’s your question today: What’s one conversation you’ve heard that had a moment worth sharing? Explore Podcast Clips in Creator Coast at SideHustleGPS.com. You don’t have to share the whole conversation. Find the good part—and help it reach someone who needs to hear it.
