You Can Change the Scenery

Sometimes a fresh start looks like a new home. And sometimes it looks like moving your desk so you can look out a different window. I’ve done both. I’m Angie Norris, and this is Side Hustle GPS. Today, we’re stopping in Treasure Trail to explore Home Decor Resale—and making room for your next chapter. My husband and I lived in our first home for nine years after we got married. We had combined our belongings, our decorations, and our styles. It was a three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch, and it held a lot of memories. But our family had grown to three children. We needed more space. So we staged the house and got ready to sell. It took longer than we hoped. There were backyard issues that made the sale challenging, even though the inside was a beautiful starter home. During that transition, we resold every piece in the house. And honestly? It felt really good. Things that had worked for us could go work for somebody else. We could move into our next home and figure out what fit that new chapter. Since then, I’ve sold plenty more. Pictures. Paintings. Sofas. Kitchen items. Candles. You look around one day and realize, “I don’t use that anymore. That doesn’t fit here. My taste has changed.” That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it. It might be exactly what someone else is looking for. Now, if you want to see how much I enjoy changing the scenery, look at my office. I’ve rearranged it more times than I can count. Sometimes I want a different view out the window. Sometimes I want a better background for filming videos. And sometimes I just get an itch to move everything around. I love my bookshelves, my motivational signs, and the mugs and decorations my best friends have given me. Those things make the space feel like mine. But I can love my office and still want to change it. You’re allowed to do that with your surroundings—and with your life. Something can serve you well for a season without needing to stay exactly the same forever. Home Decor Resale gives you a practical way to make some room. You can begin with something you already own rather than buying inventory. For me, local selling through Facebook Marketplace has been a convenient way to connect with buyers and arrange pickup without packing and shipping everything. If you want to explore shipping later, you can research other marketplaces and check their selling rules, fees, and whether your item fits. But your first step can stay small. Choose one decoration you no longer use. Check its condition. Measure it. Take clear photos, including any flaws, and research a reasonable asking price. Then explain how pickup will work. You don’t have to redesign your entire house to get started. Maybe it’s one picture that’s been sitting in a closet. Maybe it’s a lamp that doesn’t fit your room anymore. Maybe it’s something you keep moving from shelf to shelf because you don’t really know where to put it. That could be your first listing. So here’s your question today: What are you ready to make room for—and what could you let go of to create that space? You can keep the memories without keeping every object. And you can appreciate a chapter of your life while choosing a different setting for the next one. Visit SideHustleGPS.com to explore Home Decor Resale in Treasure Trail. Take a look around. Your next small opportunity might be sitting on a shelf. And your fresh start might begin with making a little room.
